God is the creator of human being and life is God's gift to us.Hence,we to protect,preserve and promote the gift of human life.When organ   transplantation is undertaken,the work of God becomes manifest through those who donate their organs.According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), "Organ donation after death is noble and meritorious act and is to be encouraged as an expression of generous solidarity." Hence,organ donation is not only an ethical act but it is to be encouraged.Pope St.John Paul II give his support for organ donation,calling it as "genuine act of love showing to other fellow human being.Its a way of nurturing a genuine culture of life".

Pope Pius XII declared that based on the principle of brotherly love -called fraternal charity,both living and cadaver donations are acceptable to the Catholic Church.He underscored the point that the donor is making a sacrifice of himself for the good of another person. 

Even the supreme head of Malankara Orthodox Churches, His Holiness Moran Mar Baselius Paulose II,Catholicose of the East, also emphasis the importance of organ donation in his christian community.He also call up on all the orthodox Dioceses Metropolitans  and priest in charge of their churches to conduct awareness programme in this regard."People have fear and ignorance about the organ donations that is to be wipe out and the noble work to be encouraged." further His Holiness said. 

Do you wish to pledge your organs? Then just go a head and do so,for you should have no fear in performing such a charitable,noble and heroic act. According to the CCC,Malankara Orthodox Churches,organ transplants are in conformity with the normal law if the physical and psychological dangers and risks to the donor are proportionate to the good that it is sought for the recipient.Further,"Autopsies can be normally permitted for legal enquiries or scientific research.The free gift of organs after death is legitimate and can be meritorious".

In a recent study,researchers from an American University found that meditating while on vacation proved to be more of a stress buster than merely taking a break.Researchers said that meditating while on a vacation provides a strong and immediate impact on molecular networks associated with stress and immune pathways,in addition to short-term improvements in well-being, as measured by feelings of vitality and distress.

The study involved 94 healthy women,aged 30-60.Out of those,64 women were recruited who were not regular meditators.The participants stayed at the same resort in California for six days,and randomised so that half were simply on vacation while the other half joined a meditation training programme for well being.Researchers collected blood samples,and surveys,from all participants immediately before and after their stay,as well as surveys one month and ten months later.Researcher Elissa Epel said "Based on our results,the benefit we experience from meditation isn't strictly psychological; there is a clear and quantifiable change in how our bodies function.Meditation is one of the ways to engage in restorative activities that may provide relief for our immune systems,easing the day-to-day stress of a body constantly trying to protect itself.The prediction is that this would then lead to healthier aging."

The creator of all things choose the nation of Israel to be unique people that could witness to His reality.The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people of his own possession out of all the people who are on the face of earth.(Deu:7-6)"Do this because you are belongs to the Lord your God.from all the peoples on earth he chose you to be his own special people".Again Lord said (Eze:5:5) "Look at the Jerusalem.I put her at the centre of the world,with other countries all round her." (37:12) "So prophesy to my people of Israel and tell them that I,the Sovereign Lord,and going to open their graves.I am going to take them out and bring them back to the land of Israel.These are all Biblical reference and importance of Jews In Israel.During the World War scattered jews returned to their native.No one is teach or believe that the Jewish people have been lost,destroyed superseded, permanently set a side or continually exiled from our land.    

It goes without denial that Jews are ahead in the many aspect of life such as Engineering,Music,Science,and most obvious in  business where nearly 70% of the world trade is held by the Jews such as cosmetic,fashion,food,arms,hotels and film industries (Hollywood and others). Why God gave this ability to them? Is this a coincidence or is it man-made that could be produced like the goods from a factory. In my view to get all the information accurately as possible,like the food intake,culture,religion,initial preparation of pregnancy,etc.,and compare them with other races.

Let us start with initial preparation of pregnancy.In Israel,the first thing noticed is that the pregnant mother would always sing and play piano and would always would always try to solve mathematical problems together with the husband,and was very surprised to see the mother always carry maths books and sometimes seek help from others to solve some problems.If we ask," Is this for your child in the womb? they would answer "Yes to train the child still in the womb so that it would be a genius later on." She would solve the problem without let-up until the child is born.

Another thing we can noticed,is about the food,she the mother loved to eat almonds and dates with milk,for lunch she would take bread and fish without the head,salads mixed with almonds and other nuts.They believed fish is good for the development of brain and the fish's head is bad for the brain,and it is like the culture of the Jews for pregnant mothers to take cod liver oil.We can always notice that they always like to eat fish(flesh and fillet) and no meat.According to their belief,meat and the fish together will not give any benefit to our body.Salad and nuts is a must,especially almonds. They will always eat fruits first before the main meal.Their belief if you eat main meal first (like bread or rice) then fruits,this will make us feel sleepy and difficult to understand any lesson you learn in school.

In Israel,smoking is a taboo,if you are their guest,don't smoke in their house,they will politely ask you to go out for a smoke. According to scientist in University of Israel, nicotine would destroy the main cell in our brain and will affect the genes and DNA, resulting in generation of defective brain.So all those smokers,please take note (Ironically,the biggest producer of cigarette is..you know who...make your own guess).

The food intake for the child is always under the guidance of the parent,first,the fruits with almonds,followed by cod liver oil.The Jews child,most of them knew three languages,ie Hebrew,Arabic and English,since childhood they would be trained in playing piano and violin,it is a must.It is believed that this practice will increase the IQ of the child and will make him a genius,and according to Jews scientist,the vibration of music would stimulate the brain and that is why there are lots of geniuses among the Jews.Since grade 1 to 6, they would be taught business mathematics and science subjects would be their first preference. For comparison,see the children in California,their IQ is about six years back,and Jewish children were also involved in athletics such as archery and shooting.Accordingly,it is believed that archery and shooting would make the brain more focused on decision and precision.In high school,students are more inclined to study science,they would create products,indulged in all sorts of projects,although some looks very funny or useless,but all attention is given seriously especially if it is armaments, medicine or engineering,the idea will be introduced in higher institute in polytechnics or universities.

Business faculty will be given more preference,in the last year of the university,the students in business would be given a project and practically they can only pass if their group (about 10 in a group) can make profit of USD1 million.Do not be surprised,this is the reality and that is why half of the business in the world is held by the Jews,who design the latest Levis,it is being designed in the Israel University by the faculty of business and fashion.Have you seen them how they prayed,they always shake their heads,they believed this action will stimulate and provide oxygen to the brain.

I don't touch any religion or race.The bottom line is could we produce intelligent generations just like the Jews? The answer could be in the affirmative. The changes needed are in our daily habits of eating,parenting and guess within three generations,it could be achieved..May all of us be in peace and succeed in producing future generations of genius for the betterment of mankind no matter who you are. The Aging Knee.

Your knee absorb a huge amount of pressure with every step typically one-and-a-half times your bodyweight. That pressure,plus regular wear and tear,takes a toll over time. Muscles and ligaments get weaker. The knee's two shock absorbers-pads of cartilage called menisci-start to deteriorate.So does the articular cartilage protecting the ends of the leg bones where they meet at the knee. If you have a family history of osteoarthritis,if you are overweight,or if you have had some knee injuries,you may be more prone to this deterioration. When the cartilage is gone,the bones rub against each other,and you end up with pain,stiffness and swelling.

Anti-Aging Defenses.

That doesn't mean you need to let knee pain-or the threat of it -interrupt your life.By employing some of the following strategies,  you can help keep your knees as young as you feel.

Strengthen The Muscles.

Boosting muscle strength stabilizes the knee joint and helps the muscles absorb stress you place on the knee.Strengthening should start with the quadriceps and hamstring in the thighs,but it should not end there. "In the old days,we just strengthened the quads Now we know that it's also important to strengthen the hip and core muscles to maximize function of the knee," says Dr. Richardson. It's best to work with a physical therapist who can evaluate your needs and develop a strengthening program that's right for you.One of Dr.Richardson's exercise recommendations is body squat so low that you're parallel to the ground," he warns."That will put too much stress on the knee." He also recommends a "step up" to strengthen your core,hip,and leg muscles. "Stand and face a staircase,and then rotate your body 90 degree," he explains."Hold on to the banister.Place the leg closest to the stairs onto the first step,and straighten that leg so that your other leg is off the ground.Lower yourself back down.Repeat that exercise 10 times,and then do the exercise with your other leg." 

Lose Weight

If you're overweight,each additional pound you carry translates to another 4 pounds of pressure on the joints.A 20-pound weight gain,for example,would add 80 pounds of pressure on your knees. Losing weight relieves pressure and pain on the joints."Getting your body mass index (BMI) to a healthy range will make your knees feel better," says Dr. Richardson. BMI is a measure that takes into account both your height and weight, values from 18.5 to 24.9 are considered healthy.

Increase Range Of Motion.

"Most people's joints get stiffer with age,and there's clear evidence that people with better motion have fewer symptoms, especially if they can straighten the knee.So it's important to work on getting the knee straight," Dr. Richardson says.He recommends working with a physical therapist to improve range of motion. For an exercise to try at home,he suggests sitting on a bed or floor,putting a pillow under the angle,and using your leg muscles to force the knee down gently.

A Few More Tips.

Dr. Richardson says some activities can make osteoarthritis symptoms worse,such as standing on a hard surface or squatting for a long period (while gardening,for example). "Squatting can irritate the soft cartilage meniscus of the knee. Avoid long periods of time with your knees bent deeply," he warns. Instead,wear cushioned shoes or gel inserts if you have a job or hobby that involves standing on hard surfaces,and use a low stool to sit on while gardening.

Avoid high-impact activities such as jogging and aerobics classes that involve jumping.Go for non-impact exercises,such as indoor or outdoor cycling or using an elliptical trainer.Dr. Richardson also advises that you keep your goals of better knee health in mind,as incentive. "Maybe it's just climbing the stairs,going for a walk, or crawling on the floor to play with the grandkids," he say

A new study of researchers in Finland has found that a healthy diet can help to improve children's reading skills during the first three years of school.Researchers from University of Eastern Finland and University of Jyvaskyla, followed 161 school children between the age of six to eight from the first grade to third grade.The team analysed the children's diets using food diaries, and assessed their academic skills using standardised tests.

The children's diets followed the Baltic Sea Diet and Finnish Nutrition recommendations,which advise a diet high in vegetables,fruits and berries,fish,whole grains and unsaturated fats,and one that is low on red meat,sugary products and saturated fat.

The results showed that children who followed a healthy diet in line with the Baltic Sea Diet and Finnish Nutrition recommendations, performed better in tests to measure reading skills than children who had an unhealthier diet.

The results were independent of many other factors,including the kids' socio-economic status,physical activity,body adiposity (body fat),and physical fitness,leading the team to suggest that parents,schools and governments could help improve children's reading skills just by improving the availability of healthy foods.

The study findings also provide further evidence to suggest the importance of a healthy diet on their academic performance. A 2015 study published in the Public Health Nutrition journal found that eating breakfast could also have a positive effect on children's school performance,with the quality of the breakfast also playing an important role.

After looking at 5000 children between the ages of nine and eleven from over 100 schools,researchers from Cardiff University,UK,found that children who ate breakfast were up to twice as likely to attain an above-average performance in tests than those who skipped breakfast. But children who ate an unhealthy breakfast such as sweets and chips,showed no improvement at all.

Research by Oxford University,UK,also found that levels of omega-3 fatty acids "significantly predicted" school children's ability to concentrate and learn,with higher levels of omega-3,found in oily fish such as salmon,associated with better reading and memory and fewer behavioral problems.If provide a proper diet for children, in their early age,will lead to improve their memory power to catch up their studies and expect a very good brain development.

-Obesity can be taken care of by proper diet avoiding fats and carbohydrates,maida,oil,salt and sugar. Avoid oil for frying which is deleterious to health particularly heart and use non-stick pan.Similarly moderation for sweets.

-As we age,we have 300 million small air ways in the lungs,which tend to shut off and hence need to activate them and the best way is breathing exercise,which force air to open up the small airways thereby preventing respiratory diseases.

-Diabetes can be postponed as far as possible. If there is a less insulin secretion,the insulin does not act and put pressure on the body to produce more insulin.

How Does Exercise Help. 

Exercise gives about 60% relief and tightens the pelvic areas,increase supple nature of joints,muscles and bones.It involves functioning of muscles,which need energy supplied by the body by giving glucose. The glucose is withdrawn from liver and given to muscles for them to energise and work and blood sugar automatically goes down.

The best of healthy persons can have vision disturbances,memory loss,hearing loss,sleep disturbances,balance problems,incontinence etc. Alzheimer is a mental disease with slow progression and deterioration. It start with memory loss,behavioral changes,agitation and leads to sickness.

Dementia: Is a disease where you have declined memory and the functions tend to go down.Risk factors are blood sugar,obesity and cholesterol. Eat fruits,vegetables,salads,rice once and chapattis.

Depression: loss of appetite,inability to sleep,irritability, feeling of boredom or worthlessness,withdrawing from social activities, friends,   family doctor etc. Try to keep engaged,happy and active move around.Factors that contribute to depression are changes in health, traumatic events,life circumstances,loss of people dear to you and inability to do things,which please you.

Incontinence: Trouble in controlling urine,leakage of urine due to cough,sneeze,strain.Pelvic muscles become weak and the bladder is not able to hold even a small quantity of urine and leaks.Train yourself to regular toilet habits and not unduly load with fluids.Need to rush to toilet is due to overactive bladder.

Behavioral Therapy: As you grow old,prostate gland is closed making the bladder unable to expel all the urine completely.When you pass the urine,after a point of time it stops coming and you feel the sensation again. It is important that urine is sterile otherwise,it results in bacterial infection.Women are more vulnerable to infection.It is advisable to sit on the stool and take bath. Sitting on the floor leads to contact between urethra and floor allowing the infection. Secondly for women sitting on commode of public toilets are also prone for infection.

Balance Problems: As you,age a certain amount of imbalance is inevitable.Balance is affected particularly while climbing stairs or getting up from the floor or steps. The nerves from the leg send impulses to spinal cord to the ear and then ultimately brain sends the message to the ear.It is intricate nervous mechanism, which works in microseconds. The problem occurs as a result of being in a hurry or not giving the body enough time to adjust.

Causes: Vision,diabetes,vestibular etc. Correct muscles weakness,core balance,group exercise,increase flexibility and balance.

Aches And Pains: Have no other treatment except exercise. For muscle ache and body ache,exercise work 100%. Flexibility exercise and physiotherapy give marginal relief. Medicines work for few days but ruin the kidneys.Environmental assessment -removes clutters,poor lighting,install grab bars,raised toilet seats and low bed.

Frailty: You become frail as you age,which comes in cognitive functions warranting diet exercise. Arthritis and disease- oriented arthritis require treatment.Most of us have osteoarthritis,which is age related. Every bone,joint,muscles in the body or organ requires exercise or conditioning. In osteoporosis,calcium is depleted  and bones become weak needing treatment besides exercise. 

Hearing Loss: Avoid exposure to high frequency sound. Vision disturbances-ensure good lighting,clean eyes regularly,eat healthy,reduce smoking,sleep disturbances-at least 6-7 hours sleep is absolutely essential because during sleep we restore the body function,the cells get repaired and hormones are released. Melatonin induces sleep and the maximum is released between 9.30 and 11.Sleeping early and getting up early has salutary effect on the body. Constipation is yet another issue,diet and exercise is important.

Polypharmacy associated with elders who prefer to take medicines. Phenomenon of adverse effects is seen more in elderly therefore they like medications,drugs,use of pillboxes.

Get screening for health issues like osteoporosis,hypertension,and diabetes on a regular basis.Check every 6 months for BP,sugar,  cholesterol,heart health etc. Lipid disorder,rectal cancer,breast cancer,cervical cancer can be detected and prevented at the early stages.Nutrition-fruits,vegetables, whole grain salads and good hydration help to maintain good health.

Let us not bother with so many desires,whether or not this is done properly,let us try to live a life of comfort and not to get unnecessarily upset. Eat well,sleep well and maintain mental equanimity.Two things follow for normal happy life of which,one is DO NOT FALL,and another STAY AWAY FROM DOCTORS.

E-Thrombosis is a medical condition where blood clots are formed in the body as a result of sitting in front of the computer,cash & ticket counters for long hours.It is variant of deep vein thrombosis ( DVT ),a condition which is commonly seen in people who regularly take long haul flights in cramped seats.

Doctors said the condition can be near - fatal if there is a massive clot because the clot damages the right side of the heart which is naturally weaker than the left side of the heart .When a person has a heart attack,there is some time for intervention. In case of thrombosis where the clot is massive, there is a risk of permanent damage to the organs.

Reported a case of a 32 year old man who had developed E-Thrombosis as a result of sitting in front of the computer for hours.The case reported in European Respiratory Journal saw authors state that long periods represented a major risk factor for his life threatening venous thromboembolism ( Obstruction in blood vessels as a result of blood clot which can dislodge from one place to another ). In view of the widespread use of computers,the potential burden of E-Thrombosis may be considerable.

Even people who stand for long hours can develop the condition,for example doctors and nurse standing in operation theatre and ICU.

How To Prevent E-Thrombosis ?

-Do not sit for long hours on your seat.

-Walk around the office to communicate with colleagues instead of using the intercom or emailing.

-Drink water during work as it will force you to walk at least to the washroom.

-Every two to three hours,people should stretch their body,especially legs,back and hand to avoid clot formations.

-Stop using elevators and climb stairs instead.

Many people believe that HEARTBURN (an acidic burning feeling in the chest) is the result of sour or spicy food going down the food pipe.However, that does not explain why even the sweet food like the chocolate causes the heartburn in some people. The fact is the burning sensation does not come from anything in food,but stomach acidity leaking upwards into the food pipe.Stomach acids are powerful enough to burn skin,bleach colored cloth, or remove paint.A tight valve normally keeps the acid in the stomach,which is suitable to withstand its action,but in certain conditions,the valve fails,allowing the acids to creep into the food pipe.

Here are some conditions that can drive the acid write through the valve-over eating,wearing clothes that are tight across the tummy,lifting heavy objects or doing hectic exercise or lying down soon after a big meal. Certain foods,even non- spicy ones,causes production of extra acid or loosen the valve. The usual offenders are coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, tomatoes,peppermint,chocolate,buttery or oily food,onions and heavy milk deserts. Any one can suffer heartburn,but it is commonest in pregnant women and over-weight middle aged men. Cigarettes,alcohol,and erratic eating seem to make it worse.

Experts together have put some preventive tips: Drink water with or after meals to rinse acids out of food pipe and dilute stomach acids.Stay upright after meals;let gravity hold the acids down. If you must lie down after meals, lie on your left side;this pinches the valve shut and make it difficult for the acids to come up. Eat small meals to avoid overflow. If the heartburn is worst when you lie down,raise the whole head-side of the bed by propping it on bricks.Do not consume unlimited antacid pills.To many will block even normal acid,production,giving you indigestion.
